Christmas Sunday School Lessons: A Nativity Escape Room for Kids

Christmas Sunday School Lessons: A Nativity Escape Room for Kids

It is the Sunday before Christmas, and you are staring at your lesson plan.

You want to teach the Christmas story, not just run a Christmas craft.

The usual options are a Nativity coloring page or a video they have already seen.

Your students are 9 to 12, which means they can smell filler before you finish handing it out.

This Nativity escape room turns the Christmas story into the lesson activity.

When the Christmas Story Needs to Be the Lesson

The shepherds are watching their sheep when an angel appears with the news: Jesus has been born in Bethlehem.

Your students follow the clues with the shepherds, from the manger to the shining star to the wise men's gifts.

Nine puzzles carry them through the Nativity, and each solved answer brings them closer to a secret 4-digit code.

The puzzles include picture math, decoding, a riddle, and an acrostic, so every kid finds a challenge that fits.

They learn the Christmas story because the game will not let them skip it.

When December Leaves No Prep Time

The game is print-and-play with no locks, envelopes, or props.

Kids work in teams or on their own, in any order, for 45 to 60 minutes.

Hint cards and answer keys are included, so any volunteer can run it.

If your Christmas Sunday school lessons need something with real weight, grab the printable Nativity escape room here.

Print it on Saturday night and teach the Christmas story on Sunday.

Let them crack the code, and watch the story stick.
